Television and Film.

 

In 1998 Anna won the role of Suzanne Pryce in Jack of Hearts for the BBC, giving her international exposure.

 

The sizzling on screen chemistry between the two leads, the strength and diversity Anna displayed playing mother to Katie and lover to Jack was not lost on BBC executive Mal Young who quickly signed her up to a three year contract as a regular on his hit show Holby City.

 

Jack of Hearts was sold all over the world. Holby City runs for 50 episodes a season!                                                     

Following her second season on Holby City Anna was nominated in the best newcomer category at the National Television Awards.

 

 

Holby City and Jack of Hearts were launch pads for Anna to a succession of guest starring roles including Murphy’s Law with James Nesbit, Silent Witness, Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren and The Secret Life of Michael Fry alongside the formidable Ewan Bremner.

Anna met and worked with director John Irvin at The Moonstone Directors Lab in Scotland on the film Love and Big Guns.

 

On returning to London John immediately cast Anna to play opposite Michael Caine in his movie Shiner.

 

In 2000, Very Annie Mary by director Sara Sugarman, saw Anna work opposite Rachel Griffiths and Johnathan Pryce. It is set in the Welsh Valley’s where it still enjoys cult status! 

Back to TV in 2004-5 with The Giblet Boys, the UK version of the US hit Malcolm in The Middle.

 

Anna was cast as the boys long suffering Mum. The show won a BAFTA for best children’s series.

 

The second season was written to accommodate the fact that Anna would be seven months pregnant during filming.

In 2009 Anna emigrated to the US to continue working in Los Angeles. 

 

Whilst there she was involved in several feature films and popular television shows.

 

ALMOST BROADWAY released as BLACKMAIL sees Anna play a tough New York actress alongside Diane Farr, Taryn Manning and Currie Graham.

 

THE POSSESSION OF MICHEAL KING is a particularly gruesome horror flick in which Anna plays a psychic who meets an unfortunate end.

THE REPUBLIC OF TWO features Anna opposite Downtown Abbey's Janet Montgomery.
